About Brenda Bancel


Brenda Bancel is the president of the Take 5 Foundation and owner of Brenda Bancel Photography LLC.

She spent ten years in the advertising industry working with clients such as Apple and IBM before realizing that she wanted to focus on nonprofit work and using her own creative talent.

She is a recent graduate of the New England School of Photography, where she graduated with honors in Documentary. She hopes to use photography to bring awareness to important social issues.





2011- Present
Owner, Brenda Bancel Photography LLC
-Manage business including preparing estimates, invoices and a paid intern.
-Work with Clients on lifestyle photography, corporate headshots and documentary projects.
-Personal projects include; Vegas & Disney, Finding the Sacred on the Sacred River, Water, In God’s Studio, The Gallery of Innocence.
-Work with a writer (Sejal Petal) to prepare essays and accompanying photos on varying social issues.  
Co-Founder and President of TAKE 5 Foundation
-Teach five underserved children in Dorchester photography over one year school period.
-Prepare gallery show at the Photographic Resource Center as final event of program each year.
-Promote event through PR, website, social media.
-Manage two additional TAKE 5 programs; music composing and children in India.
Chair, Medici, School of the Museum of Fine Arts
-Connect SMFA students with collectors through small artist talks.
-Manage group of 300 collectors by having art events which help to raise scholarship money for students.

Attended on a full scholarship for swimming.
